Imaan

Narrated Ibn ‘Umar (Allah is pleased with him): Allah’s Messenger (Pbuh) said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles)
                        1) To testify that la-ilaha ill-allah wa anna Muhammad-ar-rasul allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah).

                        2) Iqamat-as-salat to offer five times daily prayers dutifully and perfectly.
Here dutifully and perfectly means; each and every Muslim, male or female, is obliged to offer his Salat (prayers) regularly five times a day at the specified times. One must offer the Salat (prayers) as the Prophet (Pbuh) used to offer them with all regulations i.e, standing, bowing, prostrating, sitting, etc. As he (Pbuh) said: offer your Salat (prayers) the way you see me offering them.

                        3) To pay Zakat.
Zakat is a certain fixed portion of the wealth and of each and every kind of the property liable to Zakat of a Muslim to be paid yearly for the benefit of the poor in the Muslim community. The payment of Zakat is obligatory as it is one of the five pillars of Islam. Zakat is the major economic means for establishing social justice and leading the Muslim society to prosperity and security.

                        4) To perform Hajj (i.e pilgrimage to Makkah) to visit the house of Allah All-Baitullah in the month of Jill-Hajj.

                        5) To observed Saum [fast (according to Islamic teachings)] during the month of Ramadan.
